Gas Calculator
Enter trip type, distance, gas price, and fuel efficiency in the input fields to estimate the fuel cost per trip.
The Gas Calculator helps you estimate your vehicle’s fuel costs by taking into account fuel efficiency, distance, and gas price. This Gas Calculator works with both liters per kilometer and gallons per mile for accurate results.
Why Calculate Gas Cost Mileage?
When it comes to gas mileage, it is important to find out how much your vehicle is costing you. The Miles Per Gallon (MPG) is a simple way to find the cost per trip. However, there are certainly other ways to calculate gas cost per trip which include:
- Calculate the MPG or Miles Per Gallon
- Measure the trip distance
- The fuel efficiency of the vehicle
- Figure out the price per Gallon/liter
- Calculate the price of the Gas
How Much Gas Per Trip?
You can calculate the gas cost of the trip by using the gas trip calculator in simple steps:
- First, to calculate gas for a trip, find out the distance you need to cover on the trip.
- Now figure out the fuel efficiency of the vehicle, you are driving as different vehicles have different mileage.
- Then work out the quantity of gas required per Km
- Now to calculate gas combustion multiply the fuel efficiency of the vehicle by the mileage per Km.
- In the end, multiply the answer by the cost of gasoline per liter.
Example:
Suppose you plan a road trip of 450 km. The fuel efficiency of your vehicle is 15 km per liter, and the price of petrol is $1.20 per liter. Calculate the total fuel consumption and the cost of gasoline for this trip.
Solution:
Step 1 – Calculate Fuel Consumption:
Let Distance = 450 km, Fuel Efficiency = 15 km/L
\[ \text{Fuel Consumption} = \frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Fuel Efficiency}} \]
\[ \text{Fuel Consumption} = \frac{450}{15} = 30 \text{ Liters} \]
Step 2 – Calculate Fuel Cost:
Let Fuel Price = $1.20 per Liter
\[ \text{Fuel Cost} = \text{Fuel Consumption} \times \text{Fuel Price} \]
\[ \text{Fuel Cost} = 30 \times 1.20 = 36 \text{ USD} \]
When you are able to calculate the gas cost, it is possible for us to save the cost according to the relative efficiency of the vehicle.
